Markus Michalek, born in 1980, has supervised the German language authors in the areas of fiction, non-fiction and young adult books as a literary agent for the AVA since 2010. During his master’s degree program at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität München in newer German literature, political science and German as a foreign language, he completed the creative writing course manuskriptum in 2007–2008 under the direction of the Bachmann prize recipient Thomas Lang and editor Christiane Schmidt. He was involved in various readings in Munich, including vom boden unserer kammern Along with his work for AVA International, he is also the co-publisher of the Munich literary magazine Das Prinzip der sparsamsten Erklärung. Markus Michalek lives with his family to the south of Munich and, as an ethusiastic mountain climber, appreciates the proximity to the Alps.
