Julia Bähr, born in 1982, graduated from the German School of Journalism in Munich and, after 10 years of freelancing, worked as an editor in the arts section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. In 2023, she moved to the Tagesspiegel in Berlin, where she is a member of the editorial board.
Together with Christian Böhm, she wrote the wedding novel Wer ins kalte Wasser springt, muss sich warm anziehen in 2013, followed by her romantic comedies Sei mein Frosch, Liebe mich, wer kann! and Bauherr sucht Frau.
Her novel Hustle is a clever and darkly humorous book about the precarious lives of young women in modern consumer society.
